ESPN’s College GameDay hosted its show live from College Station on Saturday prior to Texas A&M‘s inaugural appearance in the College Football Playoff against the Miami Hurricanes.

The scheduled guest picker for that show was Aggies legend and former Heisman Trophy winner, Johnny Manziel. However, when the show came on air on Saturday morning, it announced instead that Los Angeles Lakers star, and fellow A&M alum, Alex Caruso would be the guest for the segment instead.

So, what happened to Manziel?

Johnny Manziel Was Out Partying In Miami

Well, rather than spending the night before one of the biggest games in program history in College Station, Manziel instead spent it in Miami.

The former Aggies quarterback attended the boxing match between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua and, according to his Instagram story, had quite the night out as well.

While the reasons for Manziel’s change of plans were not made public, it sure seems as if he partied a bit too hard and had to cancel on College GameDay.

There was no report on whether Manziel actually made to College Station in time for Saturday’s game, which was an 11 a.m. kickoff locally.

Manziel deserved his downfall more than anybody, completely self-inflicted and refuses to take any accountability,” one fan said on X regarding Manziel’s no-show.

However, not everyone placed blame on Manziel.

“College Gameday booked Johnny Manziel as the guest picker, knowing he’d be in Miami the night before. That mistake is on ESPN,” another fan wrote.

Both arguments have their merit. But it’s still a bad look for all involved.
