While this was Team USA Women’s Artistic Gymnast Olympic Team Member Jordan Chiles’ second Olympics appearance, these Paris games were definitely her breakout appearance as far as attention from the public goes.

Chiles was a rock-solid member of Team USA Gymnastics, a team that cruised to gold in the team competition, beating Italy by more than five points. She competed in all four events in both qualifying and the Team Final, and won a bronze medal on Floor Exercise, as well.

The 23-year-old still has two years of eligibility for the UCLA Bruins in her College Gymnastics career after taking a year off to train for Paris. But, there was no guarantee she would use them, as gymnastics is pretty grueling on the body. She may have wanted to retire after a fantastic Olympics, get her degree, and move on.

Jordan Chiles was on the Today Show on Thursday, and clarified her future.

By Pauley, she means the home of UCLA Gymnastics, Pauley Pavilion.

UCLA Gymnastics is one of the perennial powers of the sport, and their seven national titles are the third-most all-time. Things were rough without Jordan Chiles in the lineup last year. They failed to advance to the Regional Finals, a huge letdown for a program that has more talent than nearly every other team.

Make no mistake, Jordan Chiles is going to help them get further next year. Chiles was the NCAA Floor Exercise and Uneven Bars champion in 2023, and has eight perfect 10’s to her name.

Crowds will surely flock to see an American Olympic hero like Chiles. With NIL rights for college athletes, she will be able to take endorsements and make a good bit of coin, too. NIL is ingrained in college sports now, but it wasn’t that long ago where Team USA gymnasts had to choose between endorsements and college gymnastics.
