Some quarterbacks famously play well in a dome. Others are road dogs, playing their best in hostile environments. Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love’s quality of play, however, seems to be inexplicably linked to something far more obscure: Toyothathon.
Toyotathon, the yearly end-of-year sale that Toyota runs annually, usually occurs from mid-November to early January. And during this stretch of time, Jordan Love is simply a far better player than he is otherwise.
While Love’s apparent Toyotathon-fueled powers have been gaining attention for a few weeks now — ESPN’s Mina Kimes brought attention to it at the start of December — his statisitcs following Green Bay’s Monday Night Football win over the Seattle Seahawks has made the trend so pronounced that it’s simply impossible to ignore.
As a dedicated Packers fan on social media pointed out, Love’s career statistic NOT DURING Toyotathon are as follows: 3,829 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions.
DURING Toyotathon, however, Love turns into a different player, as his career numbers during the event are 3,283 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and just 2 interceptions.

The Toyotathon trend is obviously one that should excite Packers fans as it essentially means that Love plays his best ball late in the season when the games matter most.
Following their 30-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks, Love — in his second season as the team’s starting quarterback — and the Packers improved to 10-4 on the season. Unfortunately for Green Bay, however, that record puts them at third in the NFC North behind the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings, who each have 12-2 records heading into Week 16.
Next up for the Packers will be a home matchup against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football followed by a crucial road game against the Minnesota Vikings on December 29. Green Bay will then close out their 2024 regular season at home against the Chicago Bears on January 5.
So far this season, Love has completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,953 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
