The on-again, off-again docuseries set to feature Bill Belichick in his first season as the head coach the North Carolina Tar Heels football program is currently stuck in the “off-again” phase, and now we may know why.
Daniel Libit of Sportico uncovered details of the deal between the university, Belichick, and production company EverWonder Studio. Those details included an important signature from Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson, as well as some surprising information about the finer points of the agreement.
NEW: The now-imperiled @Belichick_B docuseries was set to pay @UNC $250K for filming location and give the coach use of footage shot by @EverWonderStu, per documents obtained by @Sportico. School says production has been “paused,” but could resume. https://t.co/MLqpDGEgId

North Carolina Wasn’t Going To Get Paid Nearly Enough For Docuseries
While NFL teams typically earn in the area of $2 million to appear on the HBO series “Hard Knocks,” Libit reports that the deal for North Carolina to appear on the show paid just $250,000.
Or, put into context, a small fraction of what it would have cost UNC to pay one of the top quarterbacks in the country to play for the Tar Heels in 2025.
Additionally, Charlotte Observer reporter Shelby Swanson revealed that not only did Hudson sign off on the deal, but she was also listed as the Chief Operating Officer of TCE Rights Management LLC, a company owned by Belichick and managed by his far younger partner.
On top of that fact, Belichick would have received access to raw footage from the show after the filming concluded. After a waiting period (which was reported to be either 12 months after the documentary aired or two years from the contract signing), Belichick would then have full use of the footage.
While the show hasn’t been permanently canceled, it is seemingly on life support. Maybe that changes if North Carolina miraculously turns its season around. But for now, it appears that Belichick and Hudson are having some regrets.
