Jorge Masvidal is serious about unretiring to fight a former rival. Last month, President Trump announced that the UFC was planning on holding a card on the White House lawn on the 4th of July in 2026.
“We’re gonna have a UFC fight on the grounds of the White House. We have a lot of land there, we’re gonna build…Dana’s gonnna do it, he’s great, one of a kind…”
Masvidal, who has a close relationship with Trump, wants to fight on the White House card.
“I want to fight on that White House card on July 4, it will be the most American thing possible.” Masvidal told CasinoHawks, who offer the latest online casinos, he said.
“Donald Trump was the only Republican to ever win in Miami in the last 30 years, or something crazy like that. Trump said it himself, ‘Masvidal is my favourite, he won me Miami, Florida’.
“So Trump, that one favour I need, get me on the White House card, brother, let’s go. I’ll call Trump myself.
Masvidal is interested in a rematch with Colby Covington on the White House card.
“I wouldn’t mind fighting Colby. I would love to f—– take his head off in front of the White House lawn. I don’t think UFC will care to f—– book Colby for anything, but who knows? I would love that fight.”
Masvidal hasn’t competed in MMA since a loss to Gilbert Burns in 2023, lost his previous fight in December against Joaquin Buckley.
