Even though it hasn’t quite happened for he and his teammates yet, Josh Allen is the kind of player that seems willing to sacrifice to win a Super Bowl It seems like only a matter of time for the 2024 NFL MVP to get a ring.
He’s making it a bit easier for the Buffalo Bills to build a roster around good enough to win the Super Bowl, as his record-setting contract extension he recently agreed to could’ve been even bigger than it was. He explained why he didn’t get the most out of his contract extension, and it’s refreshing to hear his reasoning.
Allen has been one of the league’s best quarterbacks for the last five-or-so seasons, and has repeatedly led the Bills deep into the playoffs, only to be let down by his defense, coaching, and kicking. If you wanted to argue that he’s now the best quarterback in the NFL, I wouldn’t argue it. A guy that many thought would be a bust out of Wyoming has turned into a future Hall of Famer.
Over the weekend, he agreed to a monster contract, paying him $330 million over 6 years with $250 million guaranteed. That guarantee is a record amount, though the average annual value is not a record.
Josh Allen could’ve cracked the $60 million mark, but chose not to. Here’s why.
Bills QB Josh Allen shows why he's 1 of 1. Listen to this answer about his contract extension.
"It's weird to say this, but what's $5 (million) more gonna do for my life that I can't already do right now? … I live a pretty good life. Got a house, got a car. We're good." pic.twitter.com/3WocZxN85N

That’s a quarterback who is focused on the right things.
