New York Mets star outfielder Juan Soto has issued his verdict on the Mets’ disastrous 2025 season, which saw them miss out on the playoffs despite having the best record in Major League Baseball in early June.
During his first season as a member of the New York Mets, Juan Soto held up his end of his massive 15-year, $765 million deal as he 43 home runs (a career-high), 38 steals and a .921 OPS.
Despite the best effort’s of Soto, however, the Mets completely collapsed down the stretch as they went 38-55 after having the best record in the sport on June 12, leaving the team on the outside looking into the postseason.

Speaking to the media after the Mets’ season-ending 4-0 loss to the Miami Marlins on Sunday, the 26-year-old outfielder was asked if he still believes in what the New York Mets are building, as his answer was unequivocal.
“One hundred percent,” Soto said when asked if he still believes in the Mets project. “One season is not going to determine what we have here. We have everything that we need to go all the way still.”

“Mets fans everywhere. I owe you an apology . You did your part by showing up and supporting the team. We didn’t do our part. “We are all feeling raw emotions today. I know how much time and effort you have put into this team. The result was unacceptable. Your emotions tell me how much you care and continues to motivate the organization to do better. Thank You to the best fans in sports.”
