Five-star quarterback Julian Lewis saw a significant drop in his recruiting ranking this offseason as he preps for his senior year. The talented passer doesn’t seem to care!

He posted a message online Sunday referencing that slide, though he deleted it moments later.

I don’t care what they rank me and the people who support me shouldn’t either. At 16 years old, I could’ve committed to any college in the country… God has blessed me to do things that every QB dreams about growing up and I’m not done yet.

Lewis is viewed by most recruiting services as one of the nation’s top signal callers. Earlier in the summer, 247 Sports ranked him as the 16th-best prospect, regardless of position.

When the site made its most recent update for the 2025 cycle, he tumbled to No. 46. Both 247 Sports and On3 Sports now view him as the seventh-best quarterback in the country.

That said, he’s still a composite five-star player with ESPN rating him as the No. 2 recruit in the class. He holds the top spot in Rivals’ rankings.

Lewis wasn’t the only person to comment on the recent fall. One of his potential suitors also took note!

Deion Sanders cryptically referenced Julian Lewis’s ranking last week.

The Colorado head coach posted a message suggesting the recruiting services hold a bias against players who commit to play for the Buffaloes.

Many believed he referenced Lewis’s drop.

To whom it may concern if u desire to come play for us @CUBuffsFootball they may drop your HS rankings just because. I have a friend name LuLu from Ft. Myers they did that to years ago and they’re still doing it now. Fortunately we don’t care about rankings.

LuLu = JuJu?

While Lewis is currently committed to play for Lincoln Riley at USC, the Buffs remain high on his list of college programs. He was recently in Boulder for a visit, where one Colorado player teased the idea of a flip.

Lewis is now echoing the sentiments of the Buffaloes’ head coach as the recruiting battle wages on. Will he spurn the Trojans to join Deion Sanders? Time will tell!

Coach Prime will certainly take that commitment, no matter his overall recruiting ranking.
