Julius Randle and his wife Kendra have spent the last five years living in New York City after he signed for the Knicks in free agency in 2019 and later signed an extension.
But after Randle was dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves last week in a bombshell trade that saw Karl-Anthony Towns move in the other direction, Shaw doesn’t sound all that broken up about having to leave the city.
Kendra Randle took to TikTok, where she has 37.5 thousand followers, on Tuesday to discuss the move. And, as it turns out, she’s pretty excited about moving her two children out of NYC.

Julius Randle’s Wife Kendra Grew Tired Of Living In New York City
“It has been pretty crazy for our first time and unexpected, and I’m not gonna lie, when we heard Minnesota, it was pretty shocking, although we were so ready to leave New York,” Randle said in the video. “Living in a condo with two kids is so hard. I don’t care what anyone says. It was a great experience. But we were already looking to move outside of the city. It was just getting so hard and overwhelming for us because my husband’s from Texas, and I’m from Kentucky, and that’s just not how we grew up.”
Now, that may sound harsh. But it’s not really a shot at the Knicks. New York City has a ton going on. Which can be a lot of fun! But it can also be a bit of a shock for people who aren’t used to living life at that speed all the time.
And even in a luxury condo, there’s not really anywhere to escape all the hubbub.
Randle discusses potentially moving to the suburbs. But then you’re faced with a frustrating commute despite a short distance. Los Angeles, where Julius Randle began his career, is similar. But Julius and Kendra didn’t wed until 2017, when he had already left the Lakers.
So while being rich in NYC may seem like a dream to some, it’s easy to understand how it could be tiresome. And it seems like she was more than ready to move on to a new chapter of their lives.
