Jutta Leerdam won gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy last week to add to the Netherlands‘ medal count. That triumph could prove quite lucrative according to one advertising expert.

Leerdam flashed the Nike logo on her sports bra after finishing the race. The visual has already been posted by the brand on social media.

Who is Jutta Leerdam?

For many in the US, she is recognized as boxer Jake Paul’s fiancée. Right now, she’s best known for her Olympic success.

The Dutch skater represents the Netherlands in the Winter Games. After turning pro in 2018, she’s enjoying her second appearance at the Olympics.

In 2022, Leerdam took silver in the 1000m speed skating event. She also placed 5th in the 500m. This year, she’s bested both of those marks.

In the 500m, she placed second to win another silver medal. In the 1000m, she grabbed her first gold.

After the race, she was overcome with emotion. She, as many in her situation do, unzipped her top to allow for some airflow.

The image of tears running down her face immediately went viral, as did the Nike logo on her sports bra.

That visibility could turn out to be profitable for both Leerdam and the brand.

Advertising expert suggests $1 million earnings.

“With Nike, I suspect you’re looking at a figure of over a million,” said Fredereique de Laat via Dutch newspaper AD.

de Laat is the founder of Branthlete, specializing in female athlete advertising. The estimate stems from Jutta Leerdam’s immense popularity, not only in professional skating but also in pop culture.

She boasts 6.3 million followers on Instagram. She has 3 million more on TikTok.

That, combined with the visibility received from her romantic partner – most recently, appearances on HBO TV show Paul American – make her a worldwide star.

Her gold medal success at the 2026 Winter Olympics only makes her more attractive to an apparel brand like Nike. Future marketing opportunities seem destined to arise.

Leerdam made $35,000 for her gold medal win in Italy. She could make much more off the ice.
