You all can have your KFC. You can take your Raising Cane’s and Zaxby’s and Bojangles. Heck, I’ll even throw in Chick-Fil-A for free. The best dang fast-food chicken restaurant in the country is Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
(Note that this is not sponsored content but if Popeyes wants to send me free chicken, I will not deny it.)
Apparently, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards knows this as well. Edwards, the first pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, grew into a star in his sophomore season. He averaged 21.3 rebounds, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists to lead Minnesota back to the playoffs for the first time in four years and only the second time in nearly 20 years.
Edwards then added 10 pounds in the offseason, something he said was intentional to deal with the physicality of the NBA. But teammate Karl-Anthony Towns doesn’t seem to agree with his approach.
KAT doesn’t like when Ant Edwards ‘talks about Popeyes and all that s—t” 😳

Towns called out Edwards for his eating habits, which apparently include eating Popeyes after games. But Edwards was unphased. Instead, he went out on Wednesday night and scored 34 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, to lead the T-Wolves to a 134-122 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
KAT calls out Anthony Edwards on his Popeyes for him to go out and drop 16 in a quarter while KAT got 0s across the board, The Popeyes Game.

Popeyes Twitter Account Brutally Trolls Karl-Anthony Towns
Popeyes, took note of the performance. The brand’s Twitter account sent out a scathing tweet apparently praising Edwards and throwing shade at Towns.
Good luck to every high level athlete who eats Popeyes regardless of what their teammates say 🏀

Basketball fans cracked up at the thought of the chicken chain coming for KAT.

All elite athletes, such as myself, know that a three-piece with cajun fries and a biscuit is the best way to prepare for a game. It’s not like Anthony Edwards got to this point by accident.
But there’s still time for Towns to repent. The Timberwolves are now 3-2 and figure to be a threat in the Western Conference playoffs. If the big man sorts out his diet by then, Minnesota could be in for a special run.
