Veteran Champions League broadcaster Kate Abdo suffered a massive wardrobe malfunction during the Matchweek 3 broadcast on Wednesday, October 22, as her sweater split in half while she and the crew were live on-air.
During the halftime show of the 3 p.m. window of games on Wednesday, October 22, the CBS Sports’ Champions League crew of Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards — in addition to occasional guest Clint Dempsey — were doing what they so often do: screwing around.
As Clint Dempsey was handing out daps to his co-host, he reached across the desk to give Abdo a fist pound given they were a bit too far to execute a high-five.
Abdo attempted to reciprocate the fist bump but only made it so far as her sweater burst at the seam in the process, leading to her immediately covering up and asking for the help of, presumably, the CBS team’s wardrobe/costuming woman Emily.

Abdo, 44 years old, has been the anchor of CBS’ Champions League coverage since 2020. Alongside Henry, Carragher and Richards, the group have formed one of the most beloved pre-and-postgame shows in all of world football, and is often compared to the shenanigans of Inside the NBA.
Prior to landing at CBS Sports, Abdo worked across the globe with stops in the United Kingdom, Spain, France, and Germany, and is therefore fluent in multiple languages.
