The San Antonio Spurs and Kawhi Leonard are currently trying to find out if they can save their relationship after a disgruntled Leonard sat out for nearly the entire season. Leonard is set to either get a long-term super max contract from the team or get traded before the start of the season.
An all-hands-on-deck summer meeting with star forward Kawhi Leonard sits high on the priority list for the San Antonio Spurs, according to sources, as the team enters a pivotal offseason in the wake of Tuesday’s 99-91 season-ending loss to the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 of the Western Conference playoffs.
According to Frank Isola of the NY Daily News, Kawhi wants head coach Gregg Popovich to chill with practice among other things.

“Don’t you have to sign him,” asks one rival executive. “From what I understand, he wants (Gregg) Popovich to lighten up a little with practice and tweak some things. The Spurs may not want to change their ways, but this is Kawhi Leonard we’re talking about.”
Kawhi Leonard is a once in a generation type talent and if he says Pop needs to chill with practice then the Spurs should probably listen to him.
