The NBA offseason is heating up and players are reportedly contacting each other to see if they can join forces to compete with the Golden State Warriors. Early this morning Stephen A Smith reported that LeBron James had texted Kevin Durant about teaming up in L.A.Now we’re hearing reports that Kawhi Leonard has reached out to James about the possibility of playing with each other next season.

A source close to #LeBron tells me that #Kawhi Leonard reached out to James, telling him he very much wanted to play together. They spoke about Kawhi’s lockdown defensive ability, which would alleviate pressure off of LeBron.
From an offensive perspective, consider that #Kawhi converted a nearly identical clip as Kevin Durant in catch-and-shoot situations two years ago. In other words, he’s an ideal offensive fit for #LeBron as knockdown perimeter shooter, comfortable playing w/the ball dominant Bron.
LeBron’s team has already gone on record denying that LeBron has texted Durant. THey’ve also made it clear that the Lakers being unable to trade for Kawhi will “doom” him from going to L.A. this offseason.
Sources close to LeBron: He didn't text KD and his going to the Lakers would not be sealed (or doomed) by whether or not they trade for Kawhi. … Man, we'll all be better when this is over, one way or the other
