Utah is in the mix for Kelvin Odih, one of the top-ranked recruits in college basketball. However, the Utes failed to provide him with an updated jersey for his visit to campus earlier this week.

It brought back a blast from the past. RIP, Pac-12.

Odih, a four-star small forward in the college basketball recruiting Class of 2025, is ranked as one of the 15 best players at his position and a top-75 player overall. The Rhode Island-native, who played his senior season of high school basketball at a prep school in Los Angeles, received 20 scholarship offers from schools ranging from Xavier and Texas A&M to Albany and George Mason. He ultimately committed to play at West Virginia over Rutgers and signed with the program back in November.

However, Odih committed to play for head coach Darian DeVries. When DeVries left for the same job at Indiana, Odih decided that he would rather play elsewhere and requested a release from his National Letter of Intent. It was granted. He reopened his recruitment at the end of last month.

As of right now, Utah seems to be the frontrunner. New head coach Alex Jensen added Raphael Chillious to his staff. Chillious previously coached Odih at South Kent School in Connecticut as recently as two years ago. The former helped to get the latter to Salt Lake City for a visit on Monday.

By all accounts, the visit went well. Kelvin Odih is trending toward the Utes.

He posted a series of photos from the trip out west in a few different jerseys. It appears as though the team did not have a red one clean with the No. 5. They had to give him one of the old jerseys from the previous era. Odih wore a No. 5 jersey with the Pac-12 logo, not the Big 12.

I can’t imagine the switch-up will cause Kelvin Odih not to commit to Utah. It is not at all a big deal.

Still, it is very funny to see the Pac-12 logo come out of retirement for a recruiting photoshoot. Surely someone on staff was tasked with getting the jerseys ready. Is there not a way to expedite a No. 5?

I would like to use this time to hold a moment of silence for the Pac-12 as we once knew it. May it live forever through recruiting visits in Salt Lake City. Amen.
