Kennan Pula made one of the greatest interceptions of all-time during the high school football playoffs in Utah. That is not hyperbole.
However, he did so while wearing the gloves of a school to which he is not committed.
Maybe it means nothing. Perhaps it is an indication of what is to come.
Who is Kennan Pula?
At 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Pula is rated as a three-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2026. He is ranked as one of the top players in the state of Utah out of Lone Peak High School.
Most people expect him to play wide receiver on the next level but he is equally as talented at defensive back, which we saw on Saturday.
Lone Peak defeated Skyridge in the playoffs. Pula made a ridiculous one-handed interception to help secure the win for the Knights. He got UP to come down with the catch. It was truly unbelievable.
This is the best interception I have ever seen AT ANY LEVEL! Lone Peak High and @Utah_Football commit Kennan Pula with the jaw-dropping pick! #SCtop10 pic.twitter.com/xt30Q3IkAU

Here’s another look, as captured by Tanner Tripp:

The entire world melted down when Odell Beckham Jr. made his one-handed grab on Sunday Night Football back in 2014. This catch from Pula was infinitely more impressive.
It was the No. 1 play on SportsCenter for good reason.
There is just one thing…
A Utah commit wore Colorado gloves!
Kennan Pula committed to the University of Utah on July 3, 2025. He chose to stay home over 26 other offers from schools like Alabama, Miami, Oregon, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Iowa State.
And yet, the highly-touted Beehive State recruit wore Colorado gloves during the playoffs. Look at his hand after he came down with the interception:

ENHANCE!

Pula visited Boulder for a game at the beginning of November. Does this mean he is going to flip?!
It depends on who you ask.
Buffaloes fans say Pula was hinting at a change of mind. Utes fans don’t think so.
High school kids wear different gloves all the time. The white color scheme matched the uniform. This was just for clout. Right?!
Kennan Pula’s twin brother is also committed to Utah. Surely they aren’t going to flip because of some gloves…
