Future basketball Hall of Famer and accomplished Twitter poster Kevin Durant found out this week that, for as good as he may be at trolling on social media, there are simply levels to the game, and the likes of Brick Center — an account created for and dedicated to trolling — are simply a cut above.
At the start of Tuesday night’s game between the Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls, the Brick Center account tweeted a video of the Toyota Center looking quite empty at tipoff, captioning the post “The Rockets have Kevin Durant and the seats are EMPTY 😭”.
Kevin Durant caught wind of a tweet from the Brick Center account calling out the lack of fans at the game, and clapped by claiming that Houston is a “fashionably late” city and has been since he was drafted back in 2007.
“We’re fashionably late down here champ. Check back round mid 2nd quarter and it’s a different picture. Been that way in Houston since I been in the League,” KD tweeted.

Kevin Durant got punked by the Brick Center Twitter account over the lack of fans in attendance at the Houston Rockets’ game on Tuesday night
Unfortunately for KD and the reputation of the Rockets’ fan base, however, Brick Center came back with video receipts to show the stands looking similarly empty in the crucial 4th quarter, which Houston pull off a narrow 6-point victory.

In the 119-113 win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night, Durant played 40 minutes and had 28 points (a team-high), 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Thus far in his first season with the Houston Rockets, the future Hall of Fame is averaging 26.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
As the 2025/26 NBA season nears its All-Star break, the Rockets have the fifth shortest odds to win the NBA title at +1300, which trails only the New York Knicks (+1200), San Antonio Spurs (+1200), Denver Nuggets (+700), and the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, who are overwhelming favorites to repeat with odds of +115.
