NBA legend Kevin Durant, already infamously one of the most “online” athlete in modern history, had his alleged burner account exposed over the weekend. One NBA fan, however, had already known about the account’s existence for a few years.

In a tweet from February 2023, over three years ago, Twitter user @160and0 called out Kevin Durant’s alleged burner account, @gethigher77, for the whole world to see.

While the tweet went largely unnoticed at the time, it’s since exploded in the wake of the account’s discovery, leading the poster to explain how he obtained such sensitive inside information, who claims that he used to be in a group chat with KD.

NBA Twitter user posted about knowing the identity of Kevin Durant’s burner account over three years ago

According to the user, while it cannot be literally proven, he is “100% sure” that the messages about players such as Jabari Smith Jr, Alperen Sengun (two of his currents teammates), Devin Booker, Steph Curry, Russell Westbrook, and Ben Simmons are from Durant.

“I’m still mutual/cool with people in the chat, they’ve all told me that those messages are 100% from KD… It was an open secret let’s say. That’s the best way I can put it. I used to be popular on my old account before it got suspended. Someone else that was popular on here that I don’t wanna mention knew that was KD’s account then added me to the chat,” they explained.

During the All-Star game on Sunday, Durant could be see glued to his phone, leading many NBA fans to suspect that Durant knows his Twitter fingers have been caught red-handed.
