Kid Rock is attempting to defend himself after getting mocked online over the weekend.

On Sunday, the Detroit rocker performed on Turning Point USA’s All-American halftime show, which aired opposite Bad Bunny, and was reportedly pre-recorded in Atlanta, Georgia.

Many on social media noticed the audio during Kid Rock’s performance was off and accused him of lip-syncing.

On Tuesday, Kid Rock admitted the performance was pre-recorded but is adamant he didn’t lip-sync.

“My halftime performance was pre-recorded but performed live. No lip-syncing like the haters and fake news are trying to report. When they synced the cameras to my performance on Bawitdaba, it did not line up as I explained in this video.”

He also spoke with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on the Ingraham Angle to explain what happened.

“My DJ, who actually raps that song with me, was not lit up,” he told host Laura Ingraham. “I’m jumping around the stage like a rabid monkey, rapping my song, and I’m taking breaths, and my DJ is filling in the other parts of it – I even told them when I saw the rough cut, I was like, ‘You guys got to work on that sync. It’s off.’

“So it was just a syncing issue that they had, and I know they tried to get it right. It was very difficult.”
