LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey wasted absolutely no time landing her first technical foul of the 2024 campaign. She couldn’t make it through Game 1!
Mulkey was T’d up while arguing a foul call against star player Flau’jae Johnson. She showed no remorse after the fact.
The technical foul call came at the eight-minute mark of the fourth quarter. Despite the Tigers being up by nearly 40 points at the start of the period, Mulkey continued to coach as if the game was on the line.
Johnson drove to the basket looking to put her team up by even more. In doing so, she made contact with an Eastern Kentucky defender. A charge was called. Kim Mulkey disagreed!
She erupted on the official, voicing frustration with what she believed to be an egregious ruling. The referee didn’t take kindly to the disrespect, and quickly handed out the technical.

EKU would miss the ensuing foul shot – no harm, no foul!
Mulkey showed no remorse for the sideline explosion while speaking to the media.
“It would’ve been okay if they ejected me,” she said in her postgame press conference. “It would’ve been worth it.”
The LSU coach is never one to back down from officiating crews. She stands by her opinions, which often leads to her being scrutinized by the college basketball world.
In most cases, she doesn’t care what her critics think. That was again the case on Monday!
