Kliff Kingsbury was fired by the Arizona Cardinals in 2022 after four seasons as head coach. He’s since landed in Washington as an offensive play caller.

On Sunday, he got an opportunity for revenge on the team that canned him two years prior. He showed them what they let go!

The Commanders offense racked up 42 points in a blowout win while both rushing and passing for over 200 yards. Jayden Daniels was again efficient, completing 87% of his attempts. He added 47 yards and a score on the ground.

Kingsbury has long been considered one of the top offensive minds in football. That’s been on full display this year as the Commanders have punted just once in their last three games.

It’s the reason he was hired to be an NFL head coach in the first place.

Unfortunately, it didn’t always translate into wins on the field as he went just 27-38 in Arizona. That led to his eventual firing despite being a year removed from a playoff appearance.

Knowing the history between his offensive coordinator and the Cardinals, Washington head coach Dan Quinn made sure to give Kliff Kingsbury his flowers after the game.

The play caller got a game ball in the Commanders’ locker room and the scene was electric!

When Kingsbury was fired by the Arizona Cardinals in 2022, he took some time away from the game. That included purchasing a one-way ticket to Thailand as reports claimed he’d been telling suitors that he wasn’t interested in fielding questions about his future.

There seemed no timeline on his return!

Obviously, his feeling changed after the vacation as he’s now back on an NFL sideline. On Sunday, you can bet he was glad he made that decision to come back!
