It was a busy Wednesday night for the NBA with the trade deadline looming. However, Jalen Brunson may have had the best reaction to some of the news.
The New York Knicks made a trade to improve their backcourt after striking a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Trade details are that New York sends Cam Reddish, Svi Mykhailiuk, and a projected first-round pick to Portland for Hart.

This is a big move for the Knicks, as they now have a competent backcourt. However, nobody was happier than Jalen Brunson.
The timing of the trade announcement is everything though.
While having his collegiate jersey retired at Villanova, where Brunson and Hart were former teammates, the Knicks guard got the news that the trade went through.

How crazy is that timing? In the middle of being honored at Villanova, Brunson finds out he’ll be playing alongside his former teammate again!
It sure seems like this was the right move for the Knicks. Although Josh Hart isn’t a superstar, he’s a fantastic asset for any competing franchise.
That’s especially true since he’ll be playing with Jalen Brunson. Considering they already have chemistry, Josh Hart should have no problem fitting in with the Knicks.
Look for New York to potentially improve for the back half of the season now that they have another legitimate scoring option on the roster.
