The New York Jets, as always, are in need of a new quarterback following their failed experiment with Justin Fields last season. One potential option for Gang Green could potentially be Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray, whose future with AZ is uncertain.
After being drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Kyler Murray’s time with the franchise could be coming to an end as the team begins a new era with rookie head coach Mike LaFleur.
While Murray has had an up-and-down NFL career thus far, he’s certainly competent enough to be a starter for a quarterback-needy team such as the New York Jets.
A former teammate of Murray’s, however, has warned Gang Green against bringing him into the building.
Jets reporter Rich Cimini says that one of Kyler Murray’s former teammates ‘warned the Jets’ against bringing in quarterback Kyler Murray
“I was talking to someone, one of his former teammates, the other day, and he basically warned off the Jets about [him]. I said, ‘You know the Jets might be going after Kyler in a month or two.’ He goes, ‘No, no, no, the Jets don’t want to do that. You don’t want Kyler Murray as your quarterback.’ This is someone who played with Murray,” Jets reporter Cimini said on the Flight Desk podcast.
“Kyler Murray has attracted a lot of speculation with regard to the Jets. I’d be a little surprised if they went down that road. He has not been a durable player. He has not been a good player, quite frankly. So there has always been talk about how he doesn’t love football. So I’d be a little surprised, you know, Aaron Glenn always talks about culture, that one would surprise me.”
Yikes!
A former teammate of Kyler Murray warned the #Jets about going down that path this offseason via ESPN’s Rich Cimini:
