Lamar Brown is one of the most highly sought after football recruits in the 2026 class. The two-way player is currently in the midst of taking official visits before coming to a commitment decision.
That recent activity has sparked a reaction amongst the hometown fans. He called out their duplicity in a recent message on social media.
Brown is a 5-star prospect that hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is considered the top player in the state as well as a Top 10 overall recruit. As a result, he has a lengthy list of suitors, racking up more than 30 offers from top programs.
LSU is an obvious contender. The offensive/defensive lineman plays just down the road at University Lab High School. He’s also high on Texas A&M, Florida State, Miami, and USC.
Brown recently took an unofficial visit to see the Aggies. He’ll visit the Trojans this weekend. He has trips to Miami, Tallahassee, and College Station scheduled in the summer, too.

Lamar Brown’s final official visit is with LSU. Those meet-and-greets will help him ultimately decide his college football future.
As expected, those in Baton Rouge would love to see him stay home and rep the purple and gold. The Tigers are likely the team to beat. With that said, a portion of the fanbase has seemingly offended the 5-star lineman.
Brown took to social media to air out his complaint. He believes the local fans are being two-faced throughout the recruiting process.
It’s crazy how fans talk about you but want you to “stay home”😂💯

They want him to stay home and play for the Tigers, yet they’ve apparently been critical of his recruiting trips outside the state of Louisiana.
Lamar Brown called them out on it. He isn’t happy with receiving hate for simply weighing his options as every high-level football recruit does.
His disgust may or may not have an impact on his commitment decision. So long as that final trip is scheduled for LSU, the Tigers will remain in the driver’s seat. Hopefully, the fanbase will heed Brown’s advice and let the process play out.
