Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had his best chance to go to the Super Bowl of his career so far last season when he and the Ravens hosted the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game as favorites. But, the Ravens lost as Jackson struggled, and the Chiefs went on to win their second-straight Super Bowl.

The Ravens open up with Chiefs in Kansas City in a rematch of that game, but Lamar Jackson is not viewing it as any sort of revenge game in a different way than any other game.

Jackson won his second MVP last year, but his previous playoff struggles reared its ugly head once again last year as he struggled in that AFC Championship Game loss.  Jackson was just 20/37 for 272 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. That was good for a QBR of 41.6 out of 100, which is not very good.

Many would think he has something extra to prove on Sunday. But, that’s not how he’s approaching it. Here’s NFL.com with more.

The Baltimore Ravens kick off the season Thursday in Kansas City with a chance to avenge their AFC Championship Game loss to the Chiefs. Lamar Jackson,  however, dismissed the idea that it’s a “revenge” game.

“Any game I play in, I feel like it’s a revenge game,” Jackson  said, via the team’s official website. “I’m not just going to look at this game like a revenge game. Anybody we play, no matter if we’ve beaten them or lost to them in previous years, I just want to win.”

Lamar Jackson may not think that it’s a revenge game. But, I think that many Baltimore Ravens fans think it is, even if the two teams may play a much more important game much later in the season.
