Lane Kiffin reestablished himself as the transfer portal king during the offseason by adding a number of experienced, high-profile players like Juice Wells. Ole Miss has legitimate national title hopes during the 2024 college football season and the former South Carolina wide receiver is slated to play a big role.

The 49-year-old head coach has high expectations for the 23-year-old, fifth-year senior!

Wells, born Antwane Jr., was an unranked prospect out of high school. He committed to play for James Madison out of high school in Virginia and quickly made a name for himself on the FCS level with 603 yards and six touchdowns on 33 catches as a freshman. His sophomore campaign was even better, with 1,250 yards and 15 touchdowns on 83 catches.

As a result of his strong play, Wells received multiple FBS offers after hitting the transfer portal and landed at South Carolina. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound pass-catcher earned First Team All-SEC honors with 68 catches for 928 yards and six touchdowns during his first year with the Gamecocks.

A broken foot ended Wells’ senior year after just two games in 2023. He hit the transfer portal after the season. Kiffin got him to buy in to ‘The Last Dance’ and received his commitment in April.

Wells recently posted a video of his workout inside of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford to prove that he is not only healthy, but explosive. His head coach took it even one step further!

Kiffin shared the video on X with a very cheeky, outer space-related caption. The song choice is also of note.

South Carolina is famous for its pregame introduction. The theme from the 1968 film ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ plays over the loudspeakers as the players leave the tunnel and run out onto the field.

Sandstorm follows shortly thereafter.

Lane Kiffin dubbed his video of Juice Wells with the Space Odyssey theme as a jab at the Gamecocks. The Rebels will travel to Columbia in October!

Kiffin continues to be the most savage college football coach on social media, which Paul Finebaum does not find to be endearing. Sorry, Paul. No one cares. Everybody else — except South Carolina, in this instance — is thoroughly entertained.
