Lane Kiffin is still receiving big money for Ole Miss’ wins, despite no longer being the school’s coach.
Last month, Kiffin was forced to vacate his job at Ole Miss after taking the head coaching job at LSU.
Before leaving Ole Miss, Kiffin spoke about his desire to continue coaching at Ole Miss during the playoffs.
“I was hoping to complete a historic six season run with this year’s team by leading Ole Miss through the playoffs, capitalizing on the team’s incredible success and their commitment to finish strong.”
“My request to do so was denied by Keith Carter despite the team also asking him to allow me to keep coaching them so they could better maintain their high level of performance.”
Even after leaving Ole Miss, Kiffin will be paid performance-based bonuses for every Ole Miss college football playoff win by LSU.
On Thursday, Kiffin earned himself $500k for Ole Miss’ win vs Georgia at the Sugar Bowl.
