The Ole Miss Rebels landed a commitment from four-star transfer Trey Wallace on Sunday to further bolster its offensive lineup for the 2025 season. Head football coach Lane Kiffin took the moment to troll after picking up that recruiting win.

He immediately targeted the South Carolina Gamecocks on social media, whom the Rebs beat out for Wallace’s signature. He took a victory lap at his rival’s expense.

Wallace is fresh off a College Football Playoff appearance with the Penn State Nittany Lions. Despite success on the field, he opted to move on from the program at season’s end.

Across 14 games, the wideout totaled 740 yards on 46 receptions. He decided to take that production elsewhere before entering his senior season.

Four teams were heavily involved in his transfer recruitment. Those were Louisville, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Ole Miss. The Gamecocks and Rebels were considered frontrunners.

One South Carolina website wrote about a pending visit to Columbia with the program set to host their portal target. That didn’t happen.

Instead, Trey Wallace committed to Ole Miss. Lane Kiffin reshared that previously mentioned story after learning of the decision.

It’s far from Kiffin’s first jab at the Gamecocks. He took multiple shots at Shane Beamer’s bunch last year that revolved around the transfer of wide receiver Juice Wells.

Wells spent two seasons at South Carolina. He left before last season to move to Oxford. Gamecock fans weren’t happy with the transfer, which they let be known through online outlets. Kiffin further fanned the flames.

The pass catcher landed the moniker “Judas Wells” after hitting the portal and signing with an SEC rival. Lane Kiffin quickly had the nickname printed on Ole Miss themed apparel. He also made it a point to get Wells the football in the Rebs’ 27-3 win over the Gamecocks in October.

The Rebels stole Wells from South Carolina last year. On Sunday, they swiped another transfer wideout from the Gamecocks’ grasp. Kiffin made sure to let them hear about it.
