Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has jokes about Kirby Smart blatantly lying to the refs. Last week, Smart was caught on video appearing to call for a timeout, but then telling the refs that he was “just clapping.”

Smart would later double down on the claim that he was signaling to the refs that Auburn was clapping defense.
“Yeah, they were clapping. That’s what I told him [the head referee before the game,” said Smart.”I said, ‘If these guys clap, that’s a penalty.’ They can’t clap because we will false snap, and that’s a penalty. I’ve lost games on that before in this stadium… So I ran over to him and said, ‘They’re clapping,’ and he thought I called a timeout.”
During Saturday’s Ole Miss-Georgia game, Kiffin mocked Smart by turning to the ref to claim he was “just clapping” and not calling a timeout.
