Davante Adams has recently found himself at the center of trade rumors just a year after the Green Bay Packers traded him to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Those rumors stemmed from Adams saying that he wasn’t seeing eye-to-eye with the front office on the direction of the team’s offense.

Luckily for Raiders fans, it seems that the comment he made wasn’t actually a sign that Adams wants to leave Las Vegas.

According to The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov, Adams said today that his comment was taken out of context and he’s in Vegas to win a Super Bowl.

Even if Davante Adams had wanted out, it would have been really tough for the Raiders to justify a trade.

They just traded for the star receiver a year ago and he wasn’t cheap. They gave up a 1st rounder and a second rounder in the deal. They’d have had to get something similar in return to not look like they made a terrible move.

They also already traded Darren Waller away this offseason, so Jimmy Garoppolo would have been a bit low on dependable targets if this move happened even after the Raiders signed Jakobi Meyers and drafted Michael Mayer.

Luckily for the Raiders and their fans, it’s not something they actually need to worry about and they’ll head into the season with an interesting combination of Adams, Meyers, and Hunter Renfrow at receiver.

They certainly won’t be expected to bring home a ring with that group this season, but they should at least be competitive in a tough AFC West.
