LaVar Ball, head of the Big Baller Brand, former pro athlete, and father to NBA players Lonzo and LaMelo Ball, recently underwent amputation surgery to have a large portion of his left leg removed following complications from diabetes (an infection).

LaVar revealed the news back in February of this year that he’d had most of his left leg amputated. At the time, he published a lengthy article in Slam Magazine explaining the decision. Flash forward seven months and LaVar Ball is now showing off his new prosthetic leg on Instagram in two recent videos.

LaVar Ball Steps Out With New Prosthetic Leg

On Instagram, with the caption ‘CAN’T STOPA BIG BALLER’ he showed off the new prosthetic leg while standing in front of his Rolls Royce. He also gave shout outs to ‘Hanger’ as the “best place to get prosthetics,” presumably referring to a company that is headquartered in Austin, Texas.

LaVar Ball says “I came in there rolling and with the staff and the people they got I came out strolling” while pointing down to his new prosthetic leg.

It didn’t stop there though. LaVar Ball also shared a video on the Big Baller Instagram account showing him walk out of what appears to be a clinic for prosthetics. The caption reads “don’t turn me loose” as he walks down the ramp.

In the video, LaVar Ball says “I didn’t think I was gonna be moving this fast but I am now.” He then gets into the front seat of an SUV that is visibly too small for him but he makes it work.

It is great to see him in good spirits. You never know how someone will react and adapt to life-changing events. LaVar Ball has always appeared to be incredibly upbeat. That seems to have helped get him through this difficult adjustment.
