NBA legend LeBron James has cultivated a reputation over the years for stretching the truth, if not straight-up lying, to such an extent that it’s now become a meme.

Google “LeBron Lying Meme” and you’ll find an entire website detailing its history and a hilarious viral thread on X, formerly Twitter, detailing times that LeBron James has lied for “literally no reason.”

Over the weekend, LeBron added an instantly iconic entry to his cannon of likely bald-faced lies, as he tweeted about a dream he had that involved playing for Coach K at Duke and a surprise concert from Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

“Just woke up from having a dream I was playing for Duke for Coach K inside Cameron Indoor Stadium! It was INSANE in there. Told Coach K it was an honor to suit up for him and he said the same thing back to me. He’s such a LEGEND!” LeBron tweeted on the morning of November 10.

“Then….. It turned right into a concert. Snoop & Dre were the performers and they was doing the song ‘The Next Episode’. The roof inside Cameron damn near came off! Haha. Then my alarm went off and I woke up.”

“You wake up and decide to lie unprovoked,” said one of the top replies to LeBron’s tweet.

“LeBron is the funniest dude ever. Lying about a dream>>>>> Game is game,” said another viral response.

“I’ll never understand why LeBron James wakes up in the morning and feels the need to create the most absurd lie for no reason whatsoever,” added another basketball fan.

So far this season, his 22nd in the NBA, the 39-year-old future Hall of Famer is averaging 23.2 points, 8.9 assists, and 7.7 rebounds per game.
