Could LeBron James retire after this season?
On Wednesday night, James returned to Cleveland to take on the Cavs and was honored with a special tribute video.
During the tribute, an emotional LeBron was seen crying on the bench before being introduced into the game.

After the game, LeBron was cryptic about his future while discussing his emotions during the tribute.
“If you’d asked me eight years ago when I left for LA if I’d still be playing in 2026, I’d have said no… Just being present in the moment. I don’t know if it’s my last game here or not.”
“I’m in a battle with Father Time and I’m taking it personally. But I’m also not gonna be one of those guys (who hangs on too long).”
LeBron also spoke about the emotions of watching his son play in Cleveland.
“My mom gets to watch her son and her grandson play in the NBA at the same time.”

While it’s unlikely that LeBron will suddenly retire after this season, it’s clear that the end is near.
