LeBron James time in the NBA could come to an end sooner than later. Next month, LeBron will turn 40 years old, and he has already stated that he’s likely to call it quits before “the wheels fall off.”
“I don’t know. I’m not gonna play that much longer. If it’s 1 year, 2 years, whatever the case may be. I’m not playing until the wheels fall off. I’m not gonna be the guy that’s disrespecting the game.”

ESPN insider Shams Charania went on First Take on Thursday morning to react to LeBron’s comments. Charania said that he believes LeBron will retire after next season.
“My sense is next season could potentially be his last season in the NBA,” Charania said on First Take. “Maybe Bryce James keeps him around an extra year or two. But I do think next season, All-Star game in (Los Angeles), there might be some good momentum there for that.”
