Rachel Nichols isn’t the only one catching heat on the 4th of July, LeBron James’ spokesman Adam Mendelsohn is also under fire over some comments he told Nichols during a private phone conversation that was leaked to the media.

On Sunday, the NY Times released audio of a private conversation between Nichols and Mendelsohn that was recorded when Nichols forgot to turn off her camera inside her hotel room while inside the NBA bubble.

In the first recording, Nichols could be heard saying that her colleague Maria Taylor was promoted over her because she was black and ESPN was feeling the pressure to make a diversity hire.

In the second recording, Mendelsohn told Nichols that he was “exhausted” by the Me Too and Black Lives Matter movements which got a laugh from the ESPN personality.

Mendelsohn immediately received criticism for his comments.
