On Saturday night Derrick Rose wore an “I can’t breathe” t-shirt on before the Warriors-Bulls gamey in honor of Eric Garner who died while being held down by police officers while he pleaded that he couldn’t breathe. After seeing Rose on Saturday, LeBron asked where he could find a shirt and was eventually given one tonight by Nets guard Jarret Jack.
James said he wanted to acknowledge the Garner family but also added that “We have to be better for one another no matter what race you are.” as the reasons why he ultimately decided to wear the shirt tonight.
