It is hard to believe that after 20 years, we have finally seen the split of arguably two of the best to ever do it.
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick on the sidelines together seemed as normal as Kobe and Shaq on the Lakers hardwood together in the Staples Center.
Two of the best in the business creating a dynasty with one another that seemed like it would never end.
But just like Kobe and Shaq, it did. Immediately after it seemed like the two were on a mission to see who could win a championship first. That is exactly what I believe you are going to get with Brady and Belichick now, and to be honest, I love it.
Whether it got exhausting or not, one of the classic barbershop debates was always, who needs who more?
Can Brady win without a brilliant mind like Belichick? And as great as the mind of Belichick is, does he need one a top 5 quarterback in the league to keep the rings coming in New England?
The Patriots are known for being the best at keeping things away from the media, however reports have leaked over the last few years on Tom and Bill butting heads a bit behind the scenes in New England.
Whether it was true or not, knowing the competitiveness of these two legends, you have to believe that each are out to prove to the world that they don’t need one or the other to win.
Brady will be scrambling to find a new team as Belichick will be doing the same to find a quarterback, but when it’s all said and done, you would foolish to think these guys don’t have an eye on one another.
So sit back, get the popcorn ready, and put the debates to rest, because this year we are about to get the answers we craved all along, who needs who more?
