Former NFL running back Le’Veon Bell, who has turned to boxing and selling content on subscription services in his retirement, took some shots as Chicago Sky stars Angel Reese and Kysre Gondrezick.

Replying to a video of Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown being in attendance at a recent Summer League game with the pair of them, the former Pro Bowl running back tweeted that “2 fives make a dime every time.”

Gondrezick, who has been in the WNBA since 2021, recently began dating Brown earlier this year.

Bell would later follow up by saying that he was just joking, as the old adage goes: every joke has a bit of truth in it.

During his NFL career from 2013 to 2021, Bell suited up for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Tampa Bay Bucs, with his best years coming with the Steelers, the team that drafted him out of Michigan State University.

Over the course of his 11 seasons in the NFL (one of which he sat out due to a contract dispute),  Bell carried the ball 1,595 times for 6,554 yards and 42 touchdowns, in addition to catching 399 passes for 3,289 yards and nine touchdowns.

His best year came in 2014 when he had career-highs in games started, rushing yards, longest rush, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.

Although Bell didn’t retire until 2021, his career essentially ended in 2017, which was his last with the Steelers. He then sat out in 2018 and spent 2019 with a pitiful Adam Gase-coached New York Jets team before becoming a role and practice squad player with the Chiefs, Ravens, and Bucs.

Since retiring, Bell has become a boxer, first fighting fellow former NFL RB Adrian Peterson in an exhibition before transitioning to professional fighting. Bell began his professional career with a loss to former MMA fighter Uriah Hall in 2022. He has since beaten opponents JMX in 2023 and Tristan Hamm in May of this year.
