Lex Mailangi is one of the fastest-rising offensive line prospects in the college football recruiting Class of 2027. He landed a scholarship offer from Florida with just one single punch.
It was all the Gators needed to see!
There is still a lot of room for Mailangi to develop during his future college football career but coaches are chomping at the bit to get him in their system. You can’t teach raw strength!
Who is Lex Mailangi?
Mailangi is currently rated as a three-star recruit in the Class of 2027. He ranks as the No. 45 player at his position, one of the top 100 players in the state of California, and one of the top 750 players in the country.
I expect his ranking and rating to very soon see an increase.
Lex Mailangi has interest from more than 25 Division-I college football programs. His list of offers includes UCLA, Oregon, Alabama, Michigan, Colorado, SMU, USC, and Tennessee, among others.
The 6-foot-3, 330-pound interior offensive lineman plays for Mater Dei High School in California. You do not want to see him coming down field as a pulling guard. He will destroy you.
Mailangi was just dominant in 1-on-1s at the Polynesian Bowl combine as he is on film.
Good luck trying to get past him. Especially if you don’t beat him to the punch— literally.
Florida offered a scholarship from one punch.
Lex Mailangi took a recruiting visit to Gainesville earlier this month. He left with his 29th scholarship offer from the Gators.
All it took was a brief interaction with Brad White. (I think)
The new defensive coordinator set up as if he was a blocking sled. Mailangi knocked him completely off balance with a violent first punch. You can see the power transfer from his arms to the chest. It’s vicious.
What more do you need to see?
Obviously, the coaching staff knew of ‘Big Lex’ Mailangi’s talent before they invited him down for a visit. To be able to experience his punch in person was the only thing missing. Instant offer. On the spot!
