Defending National League Cy Young winner and Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes had a rough Opening Day against the New York Mets and his model girlfriend Livvy Dunne had a front-row seat for it at Citi Field.

The reigning 23-year-old NL Cy Young Award winner was chased from the Pittsburgh Pirates season-opening game against the New York Mets in the first inning Thursday at Citi Field, allowing five runs on 37 pitches while recording just two outs in what was by far the shortest of his 56 major league starts.

As a result of the disastrous start, Skenes begins the 2026 season with a 67.5 ERA.

Reporter at the Mets game says Livvy Dunne was ‘livid’ over Paul Skenes getting chased out of the game in the first inning of the Pirates’ season opener

Skenes’ girlfriend Olivia ‘Livvy’ Dunne was in the stands for the season opener at Citi Field, and per a reporter sitting “five rows in front of her,” she was not handling it well.

According to reporter Brent Scher, Dunne — who has been making headlines in recent weeks after she was cast in Fox’s Baywatch reboot — was “livid” watching her boyfriend get shelled by the Mets and pulled just 2/3 of the way into the first inning.

Her feelings over Skenes’ start apparently didn’t effect her celebrity charm, however, as Scher said she spent the full nine innings accommodating an endless line of fans asking for pictures and autographs without turning anyone away.

As for the game itself: the Pirates had actually staked Skenes to a 2-0 lead on Brandon Lowe’s two-run homer before everything went sideways.

In the bottom of the first, Skenes walked Francisco Lindor, gave up a single to Juan Soto, and watched Oneil Cruz misplay Brett Baty’s line drive into a bases-loaded triple and then lose Marcus Semien’s pop-up in the sun for an RBI double. The Pirates ultimately lost 11-7 to begin the season 0-1.
