There’s a good chance Lonzo Ball will be traded by the Lakers in the next week and his father is trying to work his magic so that he doesn’t end up in New Orleans.
Earlier today the Lakers-Pelicans trade rumors heated up when it was revealed that Magic Johnson had basically offered half the Lakers team in exchange for Anthony Davis.
Lakers president Magic Johnson and Pelicans GM Dell Demps have had multiple conversations today, league sources tell ESPN. There's no sense how much progress sides have made progress toward a possible trade, but the Lakers have absolutely gotten more serious in the discussions. https://t.co/R84Aetv9n3

After news of potential Lakers-Pelicans deals were revealed Lonzo’s father LaVar went on to speak to ESPN about how he wanted his son to get traded to Phoenix instead of New Orleans.
LaVar Ball tells ESPN that if Lonzo Ball is traded, he wants his son to go to Phoenix: “We want to be in LA. But if he’s traded, I don’t want Lonzo in New Orleans. Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence.”

Unfortunately for Lonzo he doesn’t have a say in which team he gets traded to.
