The Los Angeles Rams need a spark.
After establishing themselves as one of the league’s best offenses in 2021, the Rams have struggled on that side of the ball this season. They are currently one of the league’s worst offenses, averaging the 4th least points at 17.3 per game.
Outside of Cooper Kupp continuing to be just about unstoppable, there hasn’t been much that has gone right for the Rams offense this year. Now it looks like they will try to change that ahead of the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday.
According to a report from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the Rams are looking to bring back a familiar face to bolster the team’s passing attack. They are reportedly interested in a move for Houston Texans receiver Brandin Cooks.

As one league source has suggested, Cooks could be willing to soften the guarantee for 2023 in order to escape the Texans and return to the Rams. Also, the Texans could eat some of the 2023 guaranteed salary in order to get the draft pick they’re looking for.
Cooks would certainly be a boost for a passing attack that has only had one reliable receiving option this season. Allen Robinson was expected to be a reliable second option, but he has barely been targeted in the Rams’ first 6 games.
Cooks has already proven he can be successful in the Rams offense, making 80 catches for 1204 yards and 7 touchdowns back in 2018.
The Rams have also been linked to running backs ahead of the deadline as they look for anybody who can help turn this offense around. Cooks would definitely be a good option to give this offense a boost.
