It appears that LSU could reunite with its former head coach, Ed Orgeron.
While speaking with ESPN radio last month, Orgeron revealed that he was itching to return to coaching.
“I think it’s time,” he said during an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast. “I haven’t made the decision totally… It’s been four years since I’ve been out. I’m getting the itch again…”
Coach O went on to say that he would be interested in becoming Lane Kiffin’s assistant coach if he were hired by LSU.
“I love LSU. I still got my home in Baton Rouge. I loved when I was coaching for Coach (Les) Miles, being the defensive line coach. I love the Tigers, and if I’m getting back into coaching, for sure I’d consider it. No doubt.”

This week, amid rumors of LSU’s pursuit of Kiffin, it’s being reported that the school is interested in bringing back Orgeron as an assistant if they end up hiring Kiffin.
If/when Lane Kiffin is hired as LSU’s head coach, LSU is open to former Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron being part of Kiffin’s staff, sources tell

Kiffin and Orgeron have a longstanding relationship.
Tiger Bait’s Preston Guy confirms Orgeron would love to come back to LSU as a defensive line coach.
I have talked with sources close with Orgeron. I can verify, Orgeron would be very open to this opportunity if offered – and that national interview he did saying as much was far from just saying the right things to not rock the boat.
He would absolutely be open to returning as… https://t.co/jU1NHoeMgn
