Jordan Seaton will be a member of the LSU football team in 2026. The Tigers are currently working to get him on campus as quickly as possible.
That involves breaking one of their own rules related to enrollment. They do not want their five-star transfer to be hamstrung by a late start.
Seaton chose the Tigers to end a lengthy and dramatic portal saga. After announcing plans to leave Colorado in the offseason, he saw a variety of different schools and coaches before settling on LSU.
The lineman saw Mississippi State and Miami ahead of travels to Baton Rouge. While there, Lane Kiffin convinced him to skip a previously scheduled visit to Oregon and extend his stay by 24 hours – much to the dismay of Seaton’s uncle.
The ploy worked.
While Dan Lanning was able to get face time with Seaton in Atlanta, it wasn’t enough to land his commitment. And despite rumors of a last-minute trip to Maryland, he spurned the Terps to end his recruitment with a pledge to join the Tigers.
LSU is bending the rules for Jordan Seaton.
One potential obstacle in Seaton’s recruitment was linked to enrollment dates. By taking multiple visits and stretching the process out, he effectively missed many spring semester deadlines.
Two of his finalists, Miami and LSU, had enrollment dates that passed last week. At the time, Seaton was still weighing his options.
Many believed that put Oregon in the driver’s seat. The Ducks operate on the quarters system, pushing back the deadline to file paperwork.
Enrollment timelines were crucial to Seaton’s outlook at his next school. If unable to enroll for spring classes, he would be unable to participate in spring practice.
LSU is working to ensure that isn’t the case. Despite missing the predetermined window, the school is bending rules to allow Jordan Seaton in.
NEW: Even though the deadline to enroll in classes passed last week, LSU transfer Jordan Seaton is expected to be on campus and enrolled in classes this week, source confirms. That would allow him to participate in spring practice.
As another source described it, “when you have…

Seaton is making himself at home.
LSU is pushing to have him enrolled in the spring. That will allow him to get back to day-to-day life as a student-athlete.
Not only will he be able to adjust to his new campus and living situation, but he’ll also get to become more familiar with his teammates and coaching staff.
He will not miss spring practice, at least not if LSU coaches have anything to do with it. That should be beneficial in learning the system and solidifying his spot in the starting lineup.
He does not expect to miss time in spring practice. He will not be behind upon joining the team.
Seaton will have the advantage of four extra months on campus despite missing the enrollment deadline. That likely wouldn’t be the case for your typical student.
Jordan Seaton is not the average student, though. He was one of the most highly sought after players on the transfer market. As such, he reaps the benefits.
Those include a new car deal, which he teased just days after his arrival in Louisiana.
Seaton is making himself at home. LSU is doing all it can to ensure he does so more quickly.
