LSU fans had enough of their college football team’s performance against UCLA on Saturday. They packed it up and hit the exits at halftime, leaving a half-empty Tiger Stadium behind.

Brian Kelly is losing support in a hurry!

Now, to be completely fair to the Bayou Bengals and their head coach, it was scorching hot in Baton Rouge. No less than 50 people needed medical attention because of the heat.

Temperatures hovered around 91º with approximately 50/55% humidity. The sun hovered right over the field, which made it feel more like 98º or 100º. Fans who sat in the shade were far more comfortable.

A lot more people stayed in their seats for the second half on that side of the stadium. However, the rest of the stands emptied out in a hurry as soon as both teams went back to the locker room.

A sold-out crowd dwindled down to approximately half capacity, if not less. 102,000 became about 50,000.

LSU fans pride themselves on their ability to create the most hostile environment in college football. It is remarkably challenging to win in (the real) Death Valley. Especially at night. Especially when the Tigers are winning.

They were not winning after 30 minutes of play on Saturday.

LSU and UCLA scored 17 points each during the first half. The former had less than 75 yards rushing. The latter had less than 25 yards rushing. And yet, they combined to put 34 points on the board.

The Bruins were 21.5-point underdogs after a 29-point loss to the Indiana Hoosiers last weekend and should never be in a position to win on the road in Louisiana. But that’s what happened!

Tigers fans were not going to stick around and bake in the sun at Tiger Stadium to watch their team struggle with an inferior opponent. They do not care to watch such an ugly performance in such high temperatures when they could head out to a bar with air conditioning!
