LSU’s junior offensive lineman Will Campbell has been instrumental in helping the Tiger’s move to 5-1 on the season and he has rocketed up the ‘NIL 100’ along the way and now has the 35th highest NIL valuation in College Football this season. One of LSU OL Will Campbell’s NIL deals is with the Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys where he showcases Louisiana culture and a recent trip took him alligator hunting on the bayou.
If you are an outdoorsman or into hunting, then this very well might the coolest NIL deal in the nation. And it is worth pausing for a moment to reflect that (FOR DECADES) FSU was nicknamed ‘Free Shoes U’ because players got some handouts at FootLocker… Or remembering how Ole Miss got the borderline modern death penalty from the NCAA because a walk-on player went hunting on a booster’s private land, and now we have College Football stars like LSU’s Will Campbell signing NIL deals where he gets PAID to go alligator hunting in the bayou.
A sizzle reel from Will Campbell’s NIL-funded gator hunting trip to showcase Louisiana culture was shared on X, formerly Twitter, by Gordon McKernan and a full 10+ minute video of the trip was posted to the law firm’s ‘GetGordon’ YouTube channel.

The description on YouTube describes this unique NIL partnership as “part of Will’s NIL partnership with Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, showcasing the best of Louisiana culture, teamwork, and adrenaline-pumping action.”
I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I have never been alligator hunting myself. As a born and raised Floridian, I’ve been eating fried alligator tail for longer than I can remember. My parents would always order it at restaurants when I was a kid and get me to eat by telling me it ‘tastes like chicken.’
I was also recently down in Venice, Louisiana for a 2-day fishing trip with Triple Tail Charters where we went out for triple tail/reds one day in the river and offshore the next day for yellowfin tuna off the oil rigs. Suddenly, I’m regretting not working in a gator hunting excursion to that trip but there’s always next year!
Will Campbell And NIL
As I mentioned above, LSU’s Will Campbell has seen a meteoric rise this year in NIL value. According to On3’s NIL 100 rankings, Campbell now has the 91st highest NIL valuation in all of college sports and the 35th highest NIL valuation in College Football.
What I find particularly interesting about that is how LSU OL Will Campbell, checking in at a beefy 6’6″, 323 pounds, isn’t out there hustling on social media like many collegiate athletes. Campbell only has 40K followers on Instagram, 1500 followers on TikTok, and just under 8K followers on X.
I guess it goes to show that when you make good, quality content like the video from his alligator hunting trip above that it resonates with a massive audience.
