Ludacris Threw An Impressive First Pitch While Rocking Comically Oversized Arms At Braves Game

A number of famous people have ended up at the receiving end of some mockery after seeing things go wrong while throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game, but Ludacris deserves a ton of credit for his toss at a Braves game after he resurrected an iconic get-up from one of his music videos.

Plenty of rappers have gotten the chance to trot out to the mound for a ceremonial first pitch ahead of an MLB game, and some of those attempts have left a lot to be desired.

Snoop Dogg saw things go south when he was invited to do the honors at a Padres game in 2016 (although he was able to redeem himself when the Brewers gave him the nod earlier this season), but it’s hard to imagine any member of the hip-hop community will be able to top the truly atrocious hurl 50 Cent treated us to ten years ago.

I have to say I was pretty confident Ludacris was going to end up joining that club based on the approach he decided to harness when the Atlanta Braves hosted “Ludacris Night” (which also featured a bobblehead giveaway) while hosting the Rockies on Wednesday.

The guest of honor arrived at Turner Field rocking the comically large arms he famously sported in the Spike Jonze-directed music video for “Get Back” (which were complemented by an equally oversized watch and a clown shoe-inspired pair of Air Force Ones) before sauntering to the mound to throw out the first pitch.

Luda wasn’t able to actually grip the ball due to the massive prosthetics, as his right hand was seemingly covered with a strip of Velcro that made the already difficult task of throwing an accurate pitch even harder.

However, he was still able to deliver a shockingly good one given the circumstances after presumably devoting a fair amount of time to practicing for the big moment.

It’s also good to see the rapper is seemingly fine after whipping the internet into a frenzy due to a video of him drinking glacier water near the end of August.
