Luka Dončić is simply out of this world. The superstar guard made it known just how good he is at the expense of Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in the final seconds of Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
With the Dallas Mavericks trailing by two and one final chance to take the lead and a 2-0 series lead, Luka Dončić got a switch that put the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year on him. What he did next will be replayed on NBA highlight reels for decades, as the Mavs won, 109-108.

Poor Rudy Gobert. The Frenchman does not do a bad job here, to be honest. But, Luka was just too good. That stepback has been his patented move since he entered the NBA six seasons ago, and that is arguably the biggest one he hit.
For the second straight game in this series, the Wolves had a second-half lead and blew it. The Wolves led by 14 in the middle of the third quarter, but Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving closed the game strong once again.
Here’s what Luka had to say after the game about putting Rudy Gobert on skates.

That’s brutal.
Now, the Mavericks are in absolute control of this series as they look to get back to the finals for the third time in team history and the first time since 2011. They lead 2-0, and have two games back at home in Dallas with a chance to end the series in four games by taking care of their home games.
