Major Boxing Organization Interested In Jake Paul Championship Fight

One major boxing organization is apparently interested in giving Jake Paul a championship fight vs a notable name in boxing. Over the weekend, Paul fought 58-year-old Mike Tyson in a fight seen by over 100 million viewers worldwide.

Despite Paul’s mediocre performance against an aging Tyson, WBA President Gilberto Mendoza tweeted that he would be interested in giving the Youtuber-turned-boxer a title shot against former boxing champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Mendoza also thanked Paul for bringing boxing to Netflix.

“Jake Paul a true gentleman. The simple bowing gesture of respect made him a better boxer and showed his heart. At the end he brought boxing to Netflix”

It is worth noting that Chavez Jr. last fought former UFC star Uriah Hall on Paul’s undercard in Tampa, and didn’t impress with his showing.

Fans don’t seem interested in seeing Paul take on Chavez Jr for a championship belt.

“What kind of world championship? The WBA influencer belt? Because Jake Paul is far from being a world class fighter, and Chavez Jr. hasn’t been one for more than a decade now.” said one fan.

“Whats the logic neither have earned it in the year 2024 lol” commented another fan.

It’s not surprising that a boxing org would be interested in working with Paul considering how much money he brings to the sports.
