The Seattle Mariners narrowly and painfully missed out on reaching its first World Series in franchise history, as they lost to the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 4-3 in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series on Monday night.

Given the painful nature of the loss — they became the first team to lose a best-of-seven championship series after winning the first two games — the members of the Seattle Mariners were understandably feeling some type of way after the game, as evidenced by the blood-curdling scream that cameras picked up while interviewing pitcher Bryan Woo.

While Woo was speaking to the media, a member of the Mariners’ clubhouse — apparently outfielder Julio Rodriguez according to reporter Aaron Levine — could be heard yelling in anguish in the background. The 24-year-old three-time All-Star went 2-for-5 with a home run in the loss.

The Mariners took a 3-1 lead into the seventh inning but ultimately fell behind to a three-run George Springer home run, which gave the Blue Jays a 4-3 lead that they would never relinquish.

The Blue Jays will host the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the 2025 World Series at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Friday, October 24 at 8 p.m. EST. The defending champion Dodgers, who opened the season as World Series favorites, head into the Fall Classic as heavy favorites with series odds of -200.
